The Wrafter Family Band are exactly who you might find providing the entertainment if you ever happened to chance upon the end of a rainbow.
Whether or not you'd find an actual pot of gold there too is another matter altogether, but make no mistake about this much: this Kilbeggan quintet are always worth their weight in gold when it comes to Irish ballad, folk, and trad music.
The pleasure of watching them perform 'live' is always memorable, something that stays with you long after the moment has passed and, inevitably, leaves you wanting more of the same again.
As any true music lover will testify, there's something special - and maybe almost magical too - that stirs within the soul when you witness an amazing band live and in full flow.
But when that band before you is bound not only by their shared love of music, but by love itself, then that makes such experiences all the more more exciting still.
Seeing an entire family take their talents from the intimacy of their own sitting room to the very public glow of the spotlight on stages everywhere is a rare enough occurrence.
But when it does happen, it's an inevitably splendid and enchanting occasion. And the Wrafter Family Band are the perfect example of this phenomenon.
Featuring the full complement of the Wrafter household, the 'fab five' is comprised of dad Peter, mam Noreen, and their three children: Conor, Thomas, and Aimee.
Despite their youth - Conor recently became the first to flee the nest as he enjoys his first year in college, while Thomas and Aimee still have two and three years of their secondary school journeys to complete - they have, with Peter and Noreen at their side, lived moments that many musicians twice their ages and more might only ever dream of...
From appearances on national television, to opening for some of the biggest names in Irish entertainment, to stunning audiences at some of the nation's most important, most hallowed, and most famous venues, the Wrafters have - already - 'been there and done that'.
The Wrafters have shared stages with Nathan Carter, The High Kings, Johnny McEvoy, George Murphy, The Fureys, and The Three Tenors (Ireland), The Tumbling Paddies, and The Whistlin' Donkeys.
They have also performed as special guests of the Ceann Comhairle in Leinster House, and in the hallowed surroundings of the G.P.O. in Dublin in aid of Trocaire.
They have also been special guests of famed promoter Billy Morrissey at some of his concerts, and have twice been special guests of Eurovision winner Charlie McGettigan on his long-running Shannonside FM radio show.
They have even graced the stage of the iconic 3Arena, playing for pop icon Boy George, Irish singer/songwriter Lyra, dynamic duo Jedward, comedy legend Deirdre O' Kane, and boyband heart-throb Aston Merrygold (JLS), when they were invited to take part in a Virgin Media production.
Other television appearances to date include a famous first Late Late Show performance on Saint Patrick's Night in 2017; TG4's Realta Agus Gaolta talent show where they finished as runners-up; and RTE 1's Today show during lockdown.
The Wrafter Family Band has also entertained fans at notable national events such as the Ploughing Championships and the famous Tullamore Show.
In 2019, the same year they were also invited to audition for Britain's Got Talent, they celebrated the release of their debut EP - 'The First Verse' - with two sold out shows at the Tuar Ard Arts Centre in Moate, Westmeath.
Late in 2022, Conor was hailed as, "one of Ireland's finest banjo players", by no less than Enda Scahill from the band WeBanjo3, when he was one of just three winners chosen to perform with WeBanjo3 on stage during their concert at Leisureland in Galway.
Recently, Peter, Conor, and Thomas have also taken to performing as a trio, under the moniker of ‘The Wrafters’, where they’ve already established themselves as a much in-demand act on the ‘live’ scene, earning rave reviews for their performances at Fleadh Cheoil 2024 in Wexford, and a debut appearance at the celebrated Kilbeggan Races.
The Wrafter Family Band returned to the Tuar Ard Arts Centre in December of 2024 for their 'A Seasonal Celebration' Christmas Concert which also featured the very first public performance of what will be their new single, 'That Tune'.
The song, from the pen of Offaly poet and songwriter Anthony Sullivan, has been co-produced by Conor and Thomas with famed producer Seamus Cullinane, and is scheduled for a pre-summer release.
